Well, yes, if you are female, then this is something a normal female would find upsetting. TIP; if you know he or she is forgetful, give them plenty of reminders. Things like putting a yellow post note in their diary. You could leave a message on his or her phone the day before and tell their mother or work associate to pass it on. Ask him or her what they would like to do for your birthday. If they are not good at organizing this sort of thing, don’t leave anything to chance. Let them know what you would like for a present, where you would like to go, hey even make the reservation if you need to. I know, it’s not a surprise, but you’re going to feel worse (and them too) if they forget. This way you will have a nice time together.
