Can you or your partner take on Instant Kids?
If either of you have children from a past relationship, you want to make sure
that you select a partner who is ok with taking on an instant family, which is
not something everyone is looking for. Also, the step mother or father needs to
know when to step in and step away.
Children basically want to be with their mom and dad, and this doesn’t mean that
they don’t like their parent’s new partner, but they do want to spend most of
their time with their parents, so there is a place for your partner in your
children’s life and a time when they need not to be there. However, you could
spend some time together with them, like part of the weekend or a few special
outings and that way you are both involved at some level. Something to think
about!
