First Date Jitters
He or she is gorgeous, you’ve been flirting, and now finally it’s the first date. Just be yourself! Here’s some tips.
1. Do some preparation and find out all about your date. Does he or she like sport? What are their interests? Where do they work? Are they an only child?
2. Now that you’ve done your research, put some questions together to ask him or her about themselves. These are your conversation points.
3. What are your nervous habits, do you get serious, or do you get giggly, do you get a rash on your neck. Plan for your nervousness. If you get a rash, make sure you wear something that covers it. If you get too serious, do some smiling exercises and loosen up your jaw and face, do some singing (even if it’s just in the shower) before you go out. If you giggle, make sure you get a glass of water to sip on.
4. Drop your perceptions. Go with the attitude that this is going to be a good night and don’t think of it being anything longer or more serious than that. And, on the other hand, if you realize he or she is not for you then just have a good time.
5. Make sure you order food and drink that is easy to handle. For instance order meals that are easy to eat and not messy like spaghetti or bouillabaisse. Don’t drink too much, you don’t want to chance getting drunk and not be in control of what you’re saying and doing. You don’t want to spill all the gory details of your life and ex boyfriends straight away do you. Have fun!
